Composition shingle re-roofs
Tear off the old shingles, new underlayment, new 30-year cool shingles. The job we pull the most permits for, on homes from 20 to 48 squares.
Re-roofing Contra Costa since 2000
We pull the permit, and we stay on it until the city finals it. Every Discovery re-roof goes on the public record — 167 permitted projects and counting, built to California’s Title 24 cool-roof spec with the CRRC product numbers written on the paperwork.
Composition shingle, metal panel, flat-roof membrane, deck re-sheeting, gutters and downspouts. Residential and commercial, across Contra Costa County.
What we do
Discovery Roofing is a C-39 roofing contractor. Everything below comes off our own permit record in Contra Costa, Alameda and Solano counties — not a stock services list.
Tear off the old shingles, new underlayment, new 30-year cool shingles. The job we pull the most permits for, on homes from 20 to 48 squares.
CRRC-listed roofing products, the CF1R filed, and the HERS verification handled at final inspection. Climate Zone 12 rules are on every East County permit — we work to them daily.
24-gauge Title 24 compliant snap metal panels with a HydroStop coating — including tearing off an old tar-and-gravel roof to get there.
Touch-down membrane over flat sections, tar-and-gravel tear-offs, and repairs where a flat porch or addition meets the main roof.
Old wood shake decking replaced with new OSB or plywood before the new roof goes on. It is the step most bids leave out until the roof is open.
Gutters and downspouts fitted with the re-roof so the whole system is new at once, plus skylight work on the same trip.
About
Discovery Roofing opened in Oakley in 2000 and has been run by Guillermo Suarez ever since. It is a sole ownership — the name on CSLB license #774652 is the person who looks at your roof.
What that buys you is the boring part of roofing done right: the permit pulled, cool-roof product documented, the deck checked before the shingles go on, and the inspector signed off at the end. A roof that never gets finaled is a problem you inherit when you sell the house.
Check it yourself in about a minute: search license #774652 at cslb.ca.gov. It shows current and active, C-39 Roofing, a $25,000 contractor’s bond and workers’ compensation coverage in force through June 2027.
In their words
“Love my roof! They did my roof and my parents house too. Neat, clean and very professional. Wonderful job and would use them again and have recommended them to many of my friends who have been happy with their roofs too.”Holly C.Google review
